Cytosolic GSTs that include proteins in the nu class. Proteins in this subgroup are known to catalyze the following reaction types: disulfide bond reductase, nucleophilic addition, nucleophilic aromatic substitution, peroxidase, and reductive dehalogenation reactions. For example, SFLD protein 56292 (UniProt accn D6JFD2) has experimentally-confirmed peroxidase activity with cumene hydroperoxide, (13S)-Linoleic-OOH, and (15S)-HpETE; and disulfide bond reductase activity with hydroxyethyl disulfide. SFLD protein 57241 (UniProt accn Q54B85) has experimentally-confirmed reductive dehalogenation activity with 1-[(3,5-dichloro-2,6-dihydroxy-4-methoxy)phenyl]hexan-1-one or "DIF," which is a stalk cell differentiation factor in slime mold. In addition, there is experimental evidence that SFLD protein 58481 (UniProt accn P23202) has disulfide bond reductase activity with hydroxyethyl disulfide in addition to being part of a signal transduction cascade regulating nitrogen catabolism.
