Cis-3-chloroacrylic acid dehalogenase (cis-CaaD) enzymes catalyze the hydrolytic dehalogenation of either cis-3-haloacrylates to yield malonate semialdehyde. A cis-CaaD monomer is approximately twice as long as a 4-OT monomer with a fold similar to that of a 4-OT dimer.
