Cytosolic GSTs that include proteins with "Zeta" Swiss-Prot family annotations. Proteins in this subgroup are known to catalyze the following reaction types: conjugate addition, hydrolytic dehalogenation, isomerization, nucleophilic aromatic substitution, nucleophilic substitution (SN2), peroxidase, and thiolysis reactions. For example, SFLD protein 226008 (UniProt accn O43708) has experimentally-confirmed isomerization activity with maleylacetoacetate; conjugate addition activity with ethacrynic acid; hydrolytic dehalogenation activity with dichloroacetate and chlorofluoroacetate; nucleophilic aromatic substitution activity with 7-chloro-4-nitrobenz-2oxa-1,3-diazole; nucleophilic substitution (SN2) activity with S-2-chloroproprionate, R-2-chloroproprionate, and fluoroacetate; peroxidase activity with cumene hydroperoxide and t-butyl hydroperoxide; and thiolysis activity with p-nitrophenyl acetate. For another example, SFLD protein 233211 (UniProt accn O86043) has experimentally-confirmed malelylpyruvate isomerase activity.
