The Xi subgroup of cytosolic GSTs includes YqjG from E. coli. Proteins in this subgroup are known to catalyze the following reaction types: arsenate reductase, conjugate addition, deglutathionylation, dehydroascorbate reductase, and disulfide bond reductase. For example, SFLD protein 55984 (UniProt accn C7GXD4) has experimentally-confirmed deglutathionylation activity with S-glutathionyl-trichloro-p-hydroquinone (GS-TriCH); arsenate reductase activity with dimethylarsenate; conjugate addition activity with ethacrynic acid; dehydroascorbate reductase activity; and disulfide bond reductase activity with 2-hydroxyethyl disulfide.
