Enzymes in the phosphoglycolate phosphatase 3 family catalyze the dephosphorylation of phosphoglycolate. Though they catalyze the same overall reaction as enzymes in the phosphoglycolate phosphatase and phosphoglycolate phosphatase 2 families, they appear to have originated from a different progenitor within the HAD superfamily.
