Reaction Scheme: gluconate dehydratase, Enolase superfamiliy Reaction 3
Scheme name: | gluconate dehydratase, Enolase superfamiliy | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Reaction: | gluconate dehydratase | ||||
Description: |
Enzymes in this reaction scheme are all members of the enolase superfamily. As such, these enzymes all have an absolute requirement for a divelent metal cation. Mg(II) is the preferred cation, but they have been shown to be active with Co(II), Mn(II) and Ni(II).

This reaction scheme represents those enzymes that function with an optimal pH of around 6.5 to 7.5 and with an optimun temperature of between 80 and 100 degrees Celsius. Activity is undetectable at below 60 degrees Celsius.
| ||||
